Ron, if I see the e-slate a little cheaper, I'll get it. Actually, I'd be very happy with an 800x600 notebook since that matches the resolution of the video projector I just bought.

Sold my AMD May 90's for 1.5. Put an order for some June 90's with the proceeds.

Re: Make a $1000 notebook with a 12" screen and 10 hour battery life and I'll buy it...

I have a sharp actius: 3 lbs with internal battery, 4 lbs with the clip on second battery. With the clip on it goes 6 hours before it needs a charge. It has an 800 x 600 screen. I have the new Actius on order - same weight and battery life but 1024 x 768 display.

It just fits in my briefcase - no second briefcase for the notebook. Drives are external but modem and network card are internal (not pcmcia cards). I throw the adapter and floppy drive and/or CD-RW in my suitcase if I think I'll need them. With the battery life, I don't bother to bring the ac adapter on day trips.

It's not an expensive notebook, but it is more than $1,000.

Dan
