ABX's statements, "not compelled to make acquisitions", and "no added Tanzania risk from Africa's problems" is a classic smokescreen. This reminds me of my own apartment building redevelopment activities where I work with (and in competition) with several other redevelopers in transitional inner city neighborhoods. When one of us says we aren't compelled to make new purchases, look out! Or statements like, "Wow, I really don't think that ax murder over on 8th and J will hurt property values much, will they? In my experience that statement is preparatory to a buyout binge.
