Good question! I don't have an answer. A quick look into browser options failed to turn anything up. I suspect the more robust fix would be a more agressive DNS caching setup by our ISPs. Unfortunately, the ISPs available here have only limited professionalism to spend on up-time and availability. Given the thin to negative margins likely at ISPs, I seriously doubt we could persuade anyone managing a budget that DNS lookup performance is something worth allocating resources to.

I have just come to expect that sometimes several tries are necessary to get somewhere. I try to use it as an opportunity to practice patience and persistence; two commodities I can never have too much of. ;-)
