It' s not that I have anything against using specific media tools to "get people to tune in" (Do we really have a problem with that?) But some of what you describe smacks of manipulation to me, and frankly condescension. I don't need to be "entertained" to be enlightened. It's more important to prod people to think, and IMO that is best accomplished by reading, not watching. I've been speaking specifically about TV news, the medium itself simply doesn't lend itself to in depth analysis. I have 5 words for you: Thank God For The Internet
