Hi Dave - while you are addressing Jeff [if memory serves, he was a LT investor in VARL,] I just want to clarify --- even though you didn't say it --- there is no accounting irregularity with VARL, at least not in the negative sense like cooking the books!

In fact, while 1997 restatement has lowered the revenue/earnings, it does not impede VARL current financial health. Additionally, the restatement of last Q is actually a positive one.

To end this with an analogy, tens of thousands of people in the US file for amended tax returns every year, they are not tax cheats and the govt doesn't throw them in jail.

best, Bosco

uel dave-
Fortunately, my ave cost here was in the low 7s and half of my position was already sold in the upper 20s on the date of the 4th qtr 1999 earnings release before todays complete exit. I feel it is time for the greedy executives hang it up and I welcome a thorough SEC investigation into the insider sales.

Look at my profile to see what I own now but I am tempted to sell AMK after this tremendous run.

Personally, I think cash and perhaps defensive stocks will outperform most asset classes in the next 3-4 months especially when I believe the next few inflation reports will contain negative surprises.
