Dear JC: Whacker for Hackers---In this country you whack your child, he/she tells the teacher and you get a visit from a child protection agency. Think it cant happen? Listen to this, our friend (shes a Filipina and not into corporal punishment or anything like that-in fact shes also a RN) learned that her daughter fell into a bad crowd and was picked up for shoplifting. Her daughter was the class President and A student. Mother, was so angry she hit her daughter with the pipe of a vacuum cleaner. Daughter ran to a neighbors, neighbor called police this little woman ended up going to classes, attorney fees etc etc. all in an attempt to discipline her daughter for what to the mother was a very serious crime. Why did she use the Vacuum cleaner and not her hand, cause thats what she had in her hand when she found out about it. Anyhow, THAT is why this country is now filled with Juvenile Delinquents. Parents must tiptoe a careful line today and frankly, from what I see, they just throw up their hands in frustration and ignore what the heck is going on around them. In the Columbine case the parents claimed they didnt KNOW these kids where making BOMBS even though it was right in the damn house. JDN
