The solar panel fad was typical of "feel good" irrelevancies promoted by the environmental movement. Should an economically competitive solar power system ever be developed, it will not need to be promoted by the White House, or subsidized by the federal government.......

That's one of the things I loved about Reagan. He could see through fads and feel good BS to concentrate on the big issues.
