My Slovak teacher, a native of Slovakia, used to complain at great length about how difficult English was. English is NOT a difficult language. How can it be, you do not even "conjugate" verbs. Most verbs, (regular verbs), just add an "s" and presto, you've got the third person. Add "ed" and past tense is history. Add will, and the future is here. Would will give you the conditional. Agreed, when you get deeper into more "technical details" it may not be that simple, but then again, by the time you reach that level, you are already speaking and understanding, conversing, communicating, etc. Perhaps the only aspect that does require a little effort is the spelling part. This I believe is due to the crazy multiple sound of the vowels. Everytime they ask me to "spell" something, (in spite of the fact that I have reached a degree of proefficiency), I still have trouble with "e", since my mind automatically makes me think of "i". As in... Thi shiip in thi filds say baaaaa. (not to mention that) I like to sliip in clean shiits hahahahaha.... In Spanish, nobody learns to "spell". In fact, learn the sound of the vowels in Spanish, and you have advanced quite a bit in the control of the language. As for conjugations etc. you can only learn that by living in the country where it is spoken. Here in Argentina, they speak Spanish with an Italian accent, I love their accent. According to them... They DO NOT have an accent... (I try not to laugh when they tell me that), It is as if they are singing, very happy accent.
