Dear Y2Kate:

Your post has touched me deeply. I am confident that your cries to the Lord Jesus Christ have not gone unheard. Your confusion and apparently great sense of loss at your recent financial downturn is most understandably distressing to you. In fact, I know of very little else that causes more distress in a person's life than financial troubles, and that includes the lives of Christians. Jesus spoke often about financial matters. I believe the reason he did was because he understands the pain that can come from financial woes.

I do not mean to sound simplistic, but maybe you can use this situation to consider and evaluate your priorities. I am not suggesting that your priorities are not in order, only that it is often when we are at our lowest point that God is at his strongest in our lives. God is there for you right now, right this minute and he hears you and he is crying with you because he feels and fully and completely understands the pain you are suffering now.

Now I would like to pray for you, Y2Kate:

Father, you know and understand the pain that is in the life of this, your child, whom we know as Y2Kate. I pray that you would comfort her and make your presence known in her life in a real and powerful way. I pray that you would use this situation to make her testimony to others a powerful testimony of how God's love can carry a person through even the toughest of times. I pray that you would restore her peace and joy of life and her self-confidence. I pray that even now as I pray that the Holy Spirit would make himself known to her and sooth her distress. Thank, you, Father, for hearing my prayer which I pray in the name of the your most holy son, Jesus Christ. Amen

In Christ, Tom

y2kate,

Thank you for your faith. Where better to come but to a place of prayer when you are hurting, as now, or when you are rejoicing, or any time.

Father, I thank You for Your promises. We see them over and over. y2kate, has come asking for prayer to help understand what Your will is for current lives. Father, help us come to understanding of the meaning of Jesus' words when He told us that You know every sparrow, that You clothe every flower of the field, and that You know our needs better than ourselves. Father, help us to understand the meaning of the words to worry about today, and to let tomorrow worry about itself. Father help us understand that the TRUE riches of this life are all in knowing You! FAther through bluest skies or through cloudy days, let us look to You for all our needs and with all our praise , for You are the Alpha and the Omega. Whether we have little or have much, let us turn to You and give the glory.
With all the praise we have we thank YOU for Jesus and the Name You have given Him, and it is in His Name I pray.

Dear Kate:

First I would love to give the Lord glory and honor and praise for your bringing your request for restoration and peace and fellowship, and blessings here.

Secondly, my Father Lord has been taking me back to school the past few days , literally pleading with me to take my mask off and come into the top down rented inner sanctom instead of worshiping from the outer courts. Your prayer is one of those holy of holy prayers. As long as I have been here I admit I need to pray more like you.

Please believe me when I say that I feel your pain. I am 52 years old and have been "erased" financially three times. Once I had to live in an $125.00 month unfurnished apartment, drippy ceilings ,snow would form on the inside window ledges. I cried out to God and He heard my anguish. In three days I was living in a mansion, rent free. An elderly lady, very wealthy, from my church needed someone to just room with her, in case she needed help. She wasn't eating or cooking right. I started to cook nutricious food for her and in months she was able to take care of herself.

I've had many financial reversals but ,listen to me, every time I've had a reversal the Lord has brought me out. Not some of the time but every times. God makes plenty of adjustments to His original plan in dealing with our ignorance, ineptness, stupidity, greed, and shortsightedness; at least in my case He has.

Remember, the mammon represents the 'little' in God's eyes. It is the 'least' of our responsibilities. So if we are not faithful over the 'least' the 'few' the 'little' then God always gives us another chance. If you "must" choose something to be unfaithful over then the money or investments or 'mammon" was the correct or right choice. You were unfaithful over that which God places 'little' importance on. Godd thing. Right.!!

What God places much importance on are the true riches. Kingdom works. Kingdom responsibilities. Kingdom wealth. Sunday school teacher. Scout master. Singing in the choir. Being an usher. Parking lot attendant for your church. Evangelism. Healing ministry. Prison ministry. Visitation ministry. These are the true riches.

This latest market crash may be longer duration than others in recent past. But. Baby boomers have to place their retirements in equities. It will come back. I'm personally down about 70 to 80 thousand , so what? big deal? I thank God I'm down that much. It has been a relief b/c I'm not so caught up in the markets now. I have more time for this thread now. My computer was out of service for a week and I was sleeping better at night.

I started another thread called Jesus and Financial Freedom. Post to me on it and I will respond to you there. Read past posts on that thread . There is a wealth of information there. My wonderful friend Barry "tippet" is about the only person that still posts there but we have a great time fellowshipping there and the Lord gives us some very good advice and wisdom on our investments.

I know that the idea of the Lord giving out financial advice is ludicrous to most believers much less to worldly people, and that thread has always been controversial to many; but if you are not offended by the idea I will do everything I can for you to help the Lord get you back on the right track.....

Read what my great friend Barry said in Sept 99 about the looming crash;;;;;very prophetic now !!!About God's people getting caught up in the crash.....
