I could not have wished for a better conference call. Lev is The Man. What I liked best was his insistence on credibility, and his absolute focus on the customer. Absolutely nothing wishy washy about his position. And that means that this quality priority will permeate the entire organization. I also liked the fact that they renamed the one line the David after the engineer who got it to run correctly. That implies to me that there is a team spirit working there, not just one demanding dictator at the top. Lev spoke about his leaving, and that if he hit certain goals, he would leave within the year. If not, he would stay. One goal was positive cash flow, the other I believe was market acceptance of the product. He would not state the others. My hope is that it is a stock price of $100. A nice round number. Very upbeat and positive. I liked the part about the questioning of whether they were ready for a laptop customer. One of the lines was originally configured for laptops and then changed to cell phones. Asked by one questioner how long it would take them to "rock and roll" if they got an order, Lev said something like, "We are ready to 'rock and roll' NOW!" It was illuminating to be told the difference between the cell phone market and lap top market. Cell phones can be configured to use both the VLNC battery, and if that doesn't work the consumer could plug in a conventional battery to take its place. With laptops, they are designed around the battery, therefore, no replacement can be made. I know if I am Dell or Compaq, I would want an exclusionary period where VLNC could only sell the lap top batteries for my lap top. But I don't believe VLNC would go for it. Any ways, those are some of my impressions. I expect to see a couple of upgrades from analysts in the next few days. Jeff
