Every week that goes by, desktop *nix looks like a more viable alternative. This week, another Windows exploit related to the monolithic integration innovation. On the *nix side, Motif is released as Open Source. --- *nix is a couple Adobe programs and a Quicken port away from being the obvious alternative to Windows that some threadies here claim it is. -JCJ

"Windows is supposedly the easy-to-use system that any fool can administer."

Well it's certainly easier to use than most alternatives.

Just as people who use the internet should think before entering a credit card number over an insecure connection, they should think before executing any unknown attachment. If the feature of attachable scripts/executables weren't there, people would likely be complaining even more. It requires a much higher IQ than this to do trivial work on the OS's that some of you prefer. It is apparent that some of you just like to criticize Microsoft, and will jump at any chance to do some blaming.
