You might examine the statistics of what happens when stocks are added to indices. they outperform the index in the short run (20ish days following the announcement) & underperform the index for something like the next 6 months. That is a statistical average, and I believe it was done on the Russell 1000 index. When people start looking for artificial stimulants to get their stocks going, that should be a red flag, or amber light.

I wish I had your (sometimes blind) optimism. This is a negative- pure and simple. No way to get around that fact.

Blind optimism for the longer term 6 to 8 months outlook for JDSU and other techs.
Short term, I don't have a clue. My point is simply that one has to buy during this slow period because when the market moves, it could move very fast. When that happens could be anywhere from now to September/October. Most people believe we are close to the bottom and the risk to the downside is not that much anyways. To me it makes sense to buy your favorites now---that is probably what the funds will be doing.

Waiting to see how late day trading unfolds tomorrow to make a guess for the following week for short term trading. I am betting on a late day rally tomorrow--feel it has an 80% chance of it. Hope to see a drop at the open.
