Sono-Tek ships cleaning systems to 300-mm fab semibiznews.com MILTON, N.Y. -- Sono-Tek Corp.here announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, S&K Products International Inc., has shipped the first of its new Series 5000 cleaning systems to one of the largest IC manufacturers using 300-mm wafer processing technology. "The Series 5000 family of cleaning systems have been thoroughly designed and tested to meet rigorous industrial standards," said James L. Kehoe, chairman and CEO of Sono-Tek. "With a demonstrated cleaning efficiency of greater than 96%, the Series 5000 non-aqueous cleaning system is a major advance in cleaning and drying technology for wafer and disk transport and storage boxes." The Series 5000, capable of cleaning transport and storage containers from all manufacturers for 150-, 200-, and 300-mm wafer carriers, has been CE Certified to enable shipment into countries in the European Union, as well as being certified to meet SEMI Standards S2-93, and S8, Kehoe said. "We believe that the shipment of the Series 5000 to one of the world's leading 300-mm IC manufacturers will help position Sono-Tek as a key supplier in the emerging 300-mm industry, and should provide a solid foundation for sustaining the rapid growth we have experienced over the last four quarters," continued Kehoe. "We currently have a backlog of orders for additional Series 5000 cleaning systems, which indicates market acceptance of this technology."
