DLL...C++ holy moly...you guys are waaay over my head.

Just entered SAWS on 30 min crossover at 59 3/4. I have been adjusting the SMA for each stock I am watching trying to find the best combination to take out as many whipsaws as I can. SAWS seemed to do well with SMA 5/8. So.....time will tell.

paper trading is sooooo much easier ggggg MMK

Screening Software ..

If I'm following the conversation correctly
it seems that we want to screen a stock
database for :

1)Recent high intraday price volatility
Suggestion: calculate daily range or a moving
average of daily range as a percentage of a moving
average of closing price

2)For stocks that satisfy selection criteria in (1)
Monitor and alert in real-time for 5/8 moving average
cross-overs on 60 minute interval charts
Suggestion: make sure that the screening software
is capable of monitoring any moving average/time
period combination that seems worthwhile

What are anyone's suggestions for appropriate software ??

SI has a deal with IQ-charts for real-time charting
@ $35.00/month .. the package has a 'scan' feature
which may be able to do some/most of the above ..
Go to the 'charts' section of SI and 'click' on
'real-time charts' for a link to IQ-Charts

I also found this service ..

linnsoft.com

but haven't had the time to check
how flexible the package is ..
Costs appear to vary from $42.00 - $84.00 per month

Another package that I know can do what we want
is Bristol Financial Services' "Insight" software ..
This is a very flexible real-time pattern recognition
program that will 'alert' for MA cross-overs as they
happen for as many as 1,000 unique issues simultaneously
It used to cost $150.00/month not including price
data
.. so this is fairly expensive but I know it
can do the job ..
