Any idea why Bloomberg doesn't run a live ticker? Other than that it is the superior channel in many ways. As to the lack of entertainment value, I'm trying to make a living--I'm not watching to be entertained.

"That is like saying Busch is the de facto standard for beer because it outsells stuff like Sam Adams and Anchor Steam."

Uh actually, for me, that would be a Bud or perhaps a Hurlimann (in contradistinction to girlie man)...tough to get a Busch where I am and as for Sam Adams or Anchor Steam, strictly niche players and Bud is still the king. In the world I come from, few of my friends would ever walk into a bar and say, "make mine an Anchor Steam"!

Any idea how branding and marketing happen in the real world?...ever wonder how folks get to be market leaders or offer a HUGELY differentiated unique selling proposition?...ever wonder why there's this incredibly tight linkage between market leaders and sales or in this case viewership?...ever wonder why CNBC viewership blows away Bloomberg's?...ever wonder why Bloomberg can't hire more talent, doesn't have a live ticker, look like their newscasts happen in the Indian guy's basement, have an information flow on the screen that translates to information overload, etc, etc??

Personally, I like to be entertained WHILE I am being informed...why do folks view this as two mutually exclusive events??!!...now I must be gone, I am about to start a Bloomberg Blows thread.
