...I have a problem with my power management system also, on a Dell 733. The first time I go to the power management window and set the parameters it works fine. After that the power management feature doesn't work unless I go back to the power management window again. I don't even have to change the settings, just opening the window and closing it resets the power management feature and it works for one more time. I have read messages on other board about power management problems. Any ideas?

I was using Windows '98SE but just reloaded Windows '98 1st edition and the problem has gone away without me configuring a single option.

Would suggest that you purchase a copy of PowerQuest's Drive Image so that you can tweak your system in different ways, and save the "images" to revert back to in the future.
