I agree with your comments on China. The country is facing serious problems.
Aside from the excellent points you noted, unemployment is rising. This is and always has been the major worry of China's authorities. When the masses are unemployed, and when those masses are as large as they are in China, things can get out of hand in a hurry.

With respect to the Chinese banks, last year many North American banks and funds were also badly burned when several of the so-called Chinese "local development agencies" went bust. Not much made it to the N. American press about this, but the numbers were very large.
