Reminds me of the story of the man who needed to cross the river but did not have a walking stick to support himself against the current. Unable to find a stick he came upon a snake that offered to help him across the river by being his 'walking stick". "But won't you bite me ?" asked the man. The snake replied, "I promise to help you across the river and not bite you." The man took the snake's word and proceeded to cross the river with the snakes's help. Once both the snake and the man reached the other side, the snake gave the man a painful bite and slithered off. "I thought you said that you would not bite me !" said the startled man. The snake replied, "Yes, but you must remember to never trust a snake."
