Rod: Yes and no. A couple of Ericsson engineers were sent off to find a replacement to the spaghetti between devices (any electronic equipment). They discovered similar project were being sought at Nokia and Motorola, among some others. They reported back that the way forward was to get an industry consensus and approached said companies. Other companies were approached, such as Intel, and Bluetooth was born...and the rest they say is....

Funny how the Bluetooth logo has a striking resemblance to the Ericsson one, isn't it?
