Judging from opinion polls not that many minds have been scarred.

War is repugnant. So what is your point. The use of force represented a breakdown in negotiations by any other means. If the Miami Relatives had followed the law they would have avoided the outcome of the use of force. It was regrettable but responsibility must lie squarely with the Miami Relatives.

The Federal Government will not tolerate lawlessness. They are charged to uphold the law. I haven't a clue as to why you think it is repugnant for the Government to enforce the law by the means at their disposal and do not find the Relatives actions an extreme gesture of disobedience. Was the use of force warranted? Yes, indeed I sure think so. I don't like the use of force. I think it should be the last option. Unfortunately the Relatives actions warranted the response that the INS made.

They fought the law and the law won.
