Ignatz,

A few thoughts.

One, if the memory makers have firm, non-cancelable orders for SDRAM, then I would suspect that they would want the same from the Intel OEM's for RDRAM. Not unusual in a capacity constrained environment.

Two, I would like to see a second source for the article. As time goes on, I get more suspicious of the news.com media.

Third, the way the meeting was characterized, and with no named sources, makes me suspect an axe to grind.

Yes, Intel should stick with RAMBUS, it is the 6 million dollar man of RAM. Bigger, faster, stronger....
Eventually RAMBUS will rule the road.
Burns, Barrett and Otellini are our friends.
