Ottawa's Corel sank 23 percent Thursday as the embattled company may be days from running out of cash, according to a Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper.

Corel (CORL: news, msgs) had hoped to tap into $240 million in cash held by Inprise (INPR: news, msgs) before the two companies walked away from a merger earlier this week. Now Corel could be challenged in meeting its payroll, the newspaper said.
