>Does anyone else on this thread also have accounts at Wit Capital? If so, are you going to wait for Wit/E*trade transfer or are you closing them out now and moving the funds/equities elsewhere?

I do, I guess I'll wait since if I close my Wit account now, I might miss out on future Wit IPOs. Does anyone know if you have 2 identically registered accounts (one at Wit and one at Etrade), will Etrade merge the accounts together or open an additional account? If the latter, I may try to close the Wit account a few days before it is supposed to be transferred. I really don't want to have to wait for them to open a new Etrade account only for me to then close it and send the funds to my existing Etrade account

No way will I let Wit transfer my accounts to e*trade. Most of my equity is in my Wit accounts. According to Wit, the changeover won't happen for 2-3 months so I will stay with them as long as possible. When it happens, I will move my funds to my MyTrack account, or another "real" trading broker, and possibly move my IRAs to FBR. I will leave my current $2k account at e for the occasional IPO, but the game will be over then, IMO.
