I think that what many of us are doing is pointing out that transaction cost of 20% are a unnecessary handicap.Don't forget that you can transfer your current qcomm shares for your minimum balance requirement.Even reducing you commission cost down to 8% ( and The Motley Fool suggests 2%) gives you a much better long term return. These early investments are going to work for you over a much longer time period so you want to maximize these dollars.

But, all in all, your on the right track and in a good stock.

After reading the discussion of avoiding high transaction costs associated with initial small purchases of stocks, I came across this site. I have no personal experience with it. The name at least is politically correct for this thread.(g)
