Whoa, Eric, you are missing my point. I never tried to intimate that the technology was irrelevant. I said I didn't understand the technology and couldn't offer any views on its strengths or weaknesses. What I did say was that "performance" didn't matter. By this I meant from a marketing perspective it is possible to take a product which may be technically inferior and by using the power of the purse and influence make that technical inferiority irrelevant to ultimate success. For examples, see Betamax/VCR, Macintosh/Windows, etc. Of course there has to be some kind of technological contest involved in the first place......but I do not believe that a 5 to 10 percent difference in performance will ultimately be the deciding factor in any race. Too many other factors will drive ultimate choice. Hope this clears up my point.
