Trusts do not exist now?

Let me adjust my calibration...OPEC is not a trust...I guess the recent burp in the market was just the natural noise level of money flow...

The best thing Telespasm brings to this world is competition on a level playing field...your PC screen. That, and the free flow of information (by the way, is that another commodity?) are the ONLY reasons it is a great thing for humanity. The stuff about people (like you and I) getting rich off it is a side benefit.

Yup, trusts are BS, and Sherman is ready for the dust heap...yup...

Keep it in perspective.

Heck Maurice, never mind 'monopolies' or girls attending school, it used to take a LOT of pages by the Supreme Court to figure out whether somebody was property or person. Sure, that sounds simple, but the circumlocutions went on for a lot of pages to get to the answer.

Cargo-cult was alive and well in the USA...cargo from Africa:

Now similar circumlocutions go on about whether $ill Gates is a bad guy out to destroy the USA and consumers with his evil 'monopoly'. Should he be free or should he be relegated to Judge Jackson's tender care to have his property confiscated and other penalty imposed for successfully selling software?

The Supreme Court will hopefully get to the right answer. The reading will be long!

Recall that it was directed at 'trusts'.
Trust is an arrangement that we would today call a cartel. It is just a monopoly with multiple owners - that sounds like a contradiction but the multiple owners acted together as if one. Trust busting got Teddy Rosevelt's face carved into a mountain, so there is an appeal for politicos and resonance with the public.
