Hi JGoren,

I am surprised and disappointed for you that your cable provider is so lame. I use the local RoadRunner affiliate out here in Bend, OR and have had satisfactory service, for the most part. I would tend to believe that it is a poorly maintained MSO plant that is the cause of your frustration.
Problems in the rain is symptomatic of inadequately sealed splices. [[Aside: Hey Frank, do you think TERN solves this problem? :) ]]

DSL has a tremendous advantage imo over cable. In our area, the cable goes out constantly, especially when it rains.

The problem with DSL is that it is not available in our area and will not be for the foreseeable future.

Do you see the absurdity in your first statement in relation to your last?

I found them kind of funny, although not entirely true.
