Your right, I didn't know that. A minimal bit of DD shows that the 25% of ALS represents approximately 3.1% of ALA's market cap. Insignificant for all intents and purposes.

I'm still learning about ALA as I'm being forced into owning in via the Newbridge purchase. When I know enough I'll make the decision whether to keep my ALA shares or go looking for greener pastures. If ALA's earnings significantly depended on heavy industrial equipment sales I'd be out of here in a flash. If I want that kind of company I'd buy a pure play like Bombardier. ALA must live or die by networking and telecommunications. Everything else, imho, is just an anchor around their neck. The smartest thing they could do is to sell or spin off the entire Energy Cables division. Maybe that's the second smartest thing. The first would be to move as much of their operations as they can out of France as quickly as possible.
