From the nightly rap, (even though he is not popular but his bearish hedge fund has done real well considering the circumstances. I think he is still short DELL and INTC)

siliconinvestor.com

Bad connection. . . With Intel's recent run and the rest of tech's recent sliding, Intel is now the most highly valued tech company in the United States. This is particularly stunning, as they are a component supplier to the business folks who are starting to figure out it has some major issues in front of it and its lunch is being eaten at the high end by AMD. This will go down as one of the larger disconnects in the history of the stock market, in my opinion.

Speaking of Intel, I saw a rather remarkable comment by Walter Mossberg, the technology editor for The Wall Street Journal. He was interviewed in the most recent issue of Rolling Stone (yes, I still read Rolling Stone), and when asked about the biggest scams he's seen, he said, "When they try to sell you a faster chip, ignore it. The Pentium III was one of the biggest scams ever. Intel said it would improve your Web browser. I tested their claims and found it wasn't true."

<Isn't it outrageous that Intel is pressuring the DRAM makers to accept artificially low prices for RDRAM in an environment where there is a capacity shortage! Who the hell do they think they are?!! Intel is asking them to make less money so Intel can make more! Unbelievable!!!!>

No kidding! For all we know some brash memory maker could even have suggested to drop Wilamette price instead of asking the DRAM guys to pay for Intel's prosperity.

Mani, re:<DRAM makers gave Intel the finger, big time!> Maybe Intel will bring an anti-trust suit against them, for "illegal collaboration on pricing RDRAM" and for "moving their fingers in unison."

This could break new legal ground. <gggggggggggg>
