Doug I actually have considered freelance jobs in my neighborhood...antique stores and used furniture stores etc..
only problem is some of those stores I would approach I am already buying from them and reselling on eBay (without them knowing this)!

I wonder if I can make more moolah teaming up with a store or being a vulture (I guess that's what I am now)...or both????

NEWZ FLASH!!!!!

Dear xxx@xxxx.net,

eBud software has been acquired by AuctionPoster.com, makers of ePoster2000 auction posting and management software for eBay, Amazon.com, and other sites. I made the decision to sell eBud software because it outgrew being a one-man operation, and I believe my decision will be best in the long run. Best for myself, best for eBud software and best for all my users. Now I am part of a team and can devote most of my time to improving and expanding eBud?s capabilities. I have joined forces with a group of software developers who all have the same goal; to provide the best auction management software and support for online auction sellers.
The work to support eBay?s constant changes and a growing user base made it difficult to run eBud as a one-man operation. Now I can focus on making the software better and getting you more features faster, while others work on marketing and supporting the products.
When I first wrote eBud, I thought that I would not have to change the software that frequently. Therefore, I offered eBud for a onetime fee of $39.95 with free updates. I have discovered that any software for eBay and probably for any other online auction sites is a never-ending task of updating to conform to the auction site changes. Therefore we have changed our pricing to an annual license. The eBud annual license is $39.95 per year. Pretty cheap considering all the time it saves you don?t you think? :o) As a special thank you to all my currently registered users the annual fee is waived for 2 years!!!
Furthermore, as a registered eBud user, you can download ePoster2000 (auction posting software) and use it for FREE for 1 year (a $29.95 value)! Stay tuned for other exciting developments in the works...
eBud 2.00. It has some new, useful features and many minor enhancements and bug fixes including:
 Support for eBayMotors
 Auto-notification of changes and updates (bulletins are checked for regularly so you are instantly notified)
 Improved tools layout window (nice and neat and well organized)
 Add records by item number (this is useful when the eBay bug which leaves items off your seller list)

Please Note: I have discovered some users are experiencing unexpected problems with 2.00. In recognition of this, I recommend that unless you need the features in 2.00 now, that you hold off on upgrading until we release 2.01. We will send a short email message when this is ready.

Thank you for your loyalty and support. This could not have happened without all of you.

Doug - I think you mean Pawn Shops as a answer to a larger base items for sale. I'm suprised no large company was born yet to be a national Pawn shop . hey Goodwill comes to mind or the Salvation Army stores except its nonprofit. EBAY probably would do great in depression times.
EBAY is caught in the market downturn this time so it may go lower . I wouldn't short it with the split coming .

DOUG, I just thought of an idea: let eBay be the middleman: eBay should set up a network of "AUTHORIZED" resellers and appraisers.

Maybe eBay could require AUTHORIZED sellers/appraisers (eBay agents) to take a week of classes (like a McDonald's University type of thing i guess???) and have reps check out the agents workplace once a year for compliance of
handling inventory, that they use approved scanners and or digital camera equipment and auction posting software etc.

They can set up a fair and standard fees to resell and appraise auction items

All Authorized agents auctions would be specialy flagged that they can sell items for anyone in a certain geographic location...there could also be a listing of authorized sellers on an Image Map of the United States..Click on a state and then find one near you...etc

i.e. "This seller can sell can auction your goods & services...to find out more about this program CLICK HERE"

Dunno...just a thought!
