Bill. Yes. I agree with you on free trade. But we are now living in a new era and what's wrong with checking things yearly a while longer so we have some say if something goes wrong? WTO history does not look THAT great.

Yes, everybody could buy from someone else. As long as they are also selling their things to someone else.

Come on. We should have a little say. We are the big importers. Buying from us is not the first thing on WTO's agenda. gg. Yes, I AM for open trade. But let it be open trade. Human rights? Those will come evtl. with FREE trade. I am thinking more of dumping and not having much recourse afterwards. Let them be more open minded first to open trade before becoming a full fledged member. Even Europe has problems with them in that area, even though they are on talking terms again. Cheap labor is hard to beat. Do we want to adopt those wages? Mexico has higher wages now and more employment with our factories going down there. Does it help our trade deficit? All I can see is that we are now having a trade deficit after that fast track trade agreement. Sometimes you begin to wonder what the right thing is.
Do you remember how this country started out when it comes to wages? Did we have a WTO back then to help us out with our problems? You HAVE to start at home if you want to be accepted outside your home. Again. Don't get me wrong. I am totally for free trade, but it SHOULD BE FREE TRADE and not: I sell to you anything I want, but YOU only sell to us what WE want. Again. I am for trading with everyone but as long as everyone is not going along with trading standards, have it checked for a while longer. A cpl more years of checking should not harm trade relations with China. If it does, it would not be our fault. You sell to us, we sell to you.
