Harry,

One reason that Intel is sticking with Rambus is that they are concerned about future bandwidth requirements in 2GHz+ processors. They are concerned that DDR will max out below the speeds required for those CPU's.

I don't really know if their concern is justified or not. Regardless, they are paying a high price for their fears.
