I agree, most of what the fed has said to justify their actions makes absolutely no sense. Their relentless action has now begun to impact the market and the rest of the economy. And, if you accept my thesis - their timing is utter perfection.

Like it ot noy, the market is one of the primary components of the LEI. They're probably worried that inevitably the trade deficit will bring down the dollar and lead to inflation that they have even less control over. The excess demand and credit will also make it more difficult to slow the economy down in a controlled manner since we have a negative savings rate.
