WHY IS THE COMPANY SO QUIET???

If further stock price collapse occurs in the near-term, as a shareholder I would expect either a buy-back announcement
or, at the least, better corporate guidance with regard to 2000 anticipated EPS.

21½ + 22½ + 23½ + 24½ = 90½

I would expect neither because past history shows us that when this happened before and the price tanked all the way down to $5 and change, no pronouncements were made (as far as I recall anyway). I'm sure if they think it will come good in the end, they'll just sit tight. And if anything is wrong, they'll issue announcements even if just so they dont get sued. So, here's hoping no announcements till the next set of figures.

Also, look at the market. Everything is tanking right now. And as a little-followed stock we are off the radar, which doesn't help. Plus, I wonder if there isa secondary effect of people preserving their profits? Though more likely its still the backwash from Seagate. I would certainly welcome an official announcement from Seagate or Sandisk that said that that particular episode was over.

>>>WHY IS THE COMPANY SO QUIET???<<< What is going on with the price of SNDK has probably nothing to do with the company. Look at all of the other tech stocks that are acting the same way. Today Ciena announced great earnings that beat the estimates and it's down 8 points. LOOK AT THE MARKET IN GENERAL -- When interest rates go up steadily over several mos. time (as they have done), it has a negative effect on stocks. Every bull market in the past has ended with a speculative blow-off in stocks (which we just had early this spring) and higher interest rates (which we have now). The market is in the process of "adjusting". We aren't going to see higher stock prices for a while -- probably not until we see evidence that interest rate hikes are over and the economy is slowing down. Most folks on these boards haven't been through this phase in the market, so this will be something unknown to them. It's best to be very cautious here and to keep some CASH in reserve.
