Art, the author was Bill Syken. He only rated the Sony DSC 570, Fuji finepix 4700, Casio QV 3000EX and Canon S20, He "reviewed" the Nikon 990 and Olympus C3030, but declined to rate them on the * system since they were not released commercially. This article fell far short of the quality of reviews and rankings that you would typically look at before making a purchase. I shared it because it directly contradicted what I had read here and in the trade press concerning the memory issue. After much debate, we bought Patrick the S20 based upon the types of pictures he has taken and his level of knowledge about photography. I believe the size and simplicity of the S20 will make it a very well used gift for him. Thanks to all for sharing your experiences and views. Sunny
