Mika: Since there is little I can usefully swap as info, (you are the expert), I can perhaps help a bit on HDR.

Qualcomm has been careful to make clear that HDR is not CDMA as such, and that while it can be used on the IS 95 base using one channel of spectrum, it could also be used on (or within) GSM or TDMA infrastructure as a channel of spectrum for rapid data transmission. Exactly how is not yet clear, and there seems to have been little interest so far (it's still early) outside of Korea, Japan and the US where tests will start late this year. What may be possible in GSMland is what I thought you might know, or perhaps see what you might find out.

Will look forward to any info on HDR you may uncover.

If HDR could be used with GSM, that would greatly enhance GSM's potential staying power as the world moves to data and it would seem GPRS is a much weaker reed on which to lean for really rapid mobile data links to the internet.

A combination of GSM for voice and HDR for data would seem to be a win/win on current GSM infrastructure and spectrum.

And Ericsson would seem to be in a strong (perhaps unique) position to equip infrastructure with just that combination, i.e. GSM for voice, HDR for data.

Best.
