<I don't see why Intel doesn't take full charge of the DRDRAM fiasco by backing up the DRDRAM makers AND by being the SOLE supplier of the Willy platform. Intel should initially be the sole supplier of Willy chipsets and Willy motherboards. That way they can sell the bundled package of chipset/motherboard/Willy to OEMs at lower prices that could help offset the price premium of DRDRAM, which will have a guaranteed supply AND price if Intel backs the DRDRAM makers. >

The easy way and the right way would have been to support both DDRAM and RDRAM aggressively and let the market decide.

Why Intel's management is so lost in pushing a niche technology is beyond my comprehension. It could be that these guys are putting the companies growth at risk to appease personal egos or to win political battles.

Fortunately for AMD longs, Intel's management may not realize the gravity of RDRAM situation for some more time. With foes like this who needs friends...
