Interesting. I didn't hear those exact words but I can see how one can interpret what was said in that way. I heard that the 50 million of the other was only due to a deferal
due to customer logistics and that a full 100 or more would be eventually realized by the product. Guess I am going to have to listen to the call again.

"Chief Executive Pat Nettles said Ciena no longer expects to sell $50 million to $100 million of two new products this fiscal year. The company now expects no sales from one and less than $50 million from the other."

"Nettles said on a conference call yesterday that he expects Ciena to ``slightly outperform'' profit estimates in Linthicum, Maryland-based the company's third and fourth quarters."

These two statements taken together say that despite reduced expectations of NEW products in the next 2 qtrs the company will still exceed estimates while allowing for upside surprise.
