Bill, I can't think of anything specifically. It's the simple "plausibility" issue here that I'm referring to, their "claims" in other words. I get these visions of SkyStation, SilkRoad, Project Oxygen, MediaFusion, and a few others when I read of them. Sure, some of these are feasible, but just "how" feasible is the question.

I wouldn't expect anyone here to be able to go toe to toe with this company's choice of independent lab, in the sense that they would be able to to debunk or prove the vendor's claims.

Why was LU chosen? I suppose that LU's ownership of test beds at Bell Labs (whom they own) was among the list of reasons. But I agree that such "indenpendency" is as highly suspect as the level of objectivity one could now expect in the "consultancy" of certain firms once they've been "invested in" by equipment manufacturers. KMPG comes to mind, for example, now that Cisco has invested ten figures in them. But why LU? Don't know.
