Excellent Notes on Yahoo:Info part 1 by: gretafuller (60/F/Idaho) 5/22/00 11:06 am Msg: 14227 of 14230 Hi everyone. Good morning! Please let me start by saying that I made a mistake. I should have checked with my friend before asking the board for questions. He was miffed that I would, "take advantage" of him when I knew that he was taking a risk by talking to me. Of course I patched things up with him. He can't get rid of me without divorcing his wife!! So, I am sorry if my answers are incomplete or if I forgot somebody's question. He was willing to talk to me, but made it clear that he was not the public voice for JMAR and that I should not take his guesses to be facts. Here is what he said with regards to people's questions. JMAR semiconductor is optimistic about their newest FIFO chips. They have not received the revised version, but even if it is not 100% perfect, they will not be set back more than 60 days. The network processors will not be a product until 2001 at the earliest. The next product should be a programmable logic device. It "maybe" be ready for 4Q2000. The level for the network processor is yet to be determined (wattsa's question). They have not selected a core(?) and have not purchased the intellectual property, but it will be multi-layer. (I could not understand the question or the answer, sorry honey.) Philips business is slow, the contracts are small ($100,000 each). $6 million/year is not realistic for 2000. Maybe 2001 or 2002. Overall, semiconductor division revenues for 2000 could reach $8 million. Lithography is still at the low power position with 2 beams the most that have been combined. However, the data from the single and two beam systems have been better than expected. They are presenting some of the info at that conference. Thus, they may not need 8 beams and may get enough power from 4. The 4 module combination for testing will happen by June 30. Gene chip equipment business is unknown. info part 2 by: gretafuller (60/F/Idaho) 5/22/00 11:07 am Msg: 14228 of 14231 Flip chip inspection equipment is for real and should be available for purchase by the end of the year. They seem to use the same stuff that they used for hard disk inspection and make some changes for flip chip. I didn't ask much about this. Cadence just sold software to JMAR - no big deal. Alliance with Intel, Canon still probable. Who knows when. Friend guessed that this year it will happen. JSI valuation ideas have been all over the board. My friend guessed $180 million to $200 million as a minimum in 2001. (he now thinks the spin off will be next year) Martinez retirement - no idea. Succession plan - no idea. Yes, management does read the board. They think we are a bunch of "Yahoos" Total annual revenue - no idea, too many variables. 2Q2000 may be break even. Darpa money will be prior to Sept. 30. About $2 to $3 million. Yes they will try to combine the darpa funded work at SAL with the darpa funded work at JMAR. Integrating the JMAR source with the SAL stepper seemed right. The Bede deal is a real good situation for JMAR. They now have the rights to buy the company (they are interested) that has some of the best x-ray technologies and employees in the world. JMAR gets access to commercial X-ray markets without having to hire new salespeople and develop new products from scratch. This investment by JMAR is a cheap way of becoming a world player in x-ray machines for a lot of uses including research, metrology, and inspection. The upcoming nanotechnology revolution with sub-micron machinery will require specialized inspection equipment that x-rays are best designed to perform. My friend was VERY VERY excited about the deal and said this could be the start of something big. JMAR, with Bede's product line, suddenly becomes a commercial supplier of x-ray equipment around the globe and we should start hearing about real sales over the next 6 months. He felt that JMAR now can really move from an R&D company to a product company. That is all. Again I am sorry if I missed some people and some questions. Irish is much better suited for this stuff than me. If I need to clarify things, please let me know, I will check back around lunch time. Bye to all. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
