Yep, and when they try things like profit sharing, within five years workers take their shares, cash out, and buy a car........Hard to create a stake in the business......

There's a fairly healthy steel industry in the US. It's not a growth industry but it's not shrinking either. They're shipping iron ore out of Duluth at a rate near the average for the past 20 years.

The industry has made incredible productivity strides since the 70's. When I worked in a USSteel mine in college half the employees literally had nothing to do. Not the case today.
