Ray,

re: "I believe that Frank brought up the issue that BER, Bit Error Rate is something that is easily masked in visual testing, where the eye is very forgiving about missing signal. I always wondered where the term "vivid imagination" came from.."

That precise angle _did_ occur to me, too, because they don't (from what I can tell) make any claims about the integrity of data in terms of BER (bit-error rate), like you said, only their ability to pass video. And yes, like the Terabeam HDTV "pilot," the instantaneous loss of coded blocks of visual information, even the entire screen on an instantaneous basis, may never be "noticed" by the naked eye. Raymond - now now... be nice: "hallmarks of an amateur stock scam announcement. As opposed the the professional stock scam announcements from Lucent Press Releases, Inc. Heh, heh, just kidding.... maybe."

Thanks for pointing out that my profile said NVXE was a favorite stock. It is a big part of my portfolio, and has been for almost four years, but it's only one of a few dozen companies I hold. Your post reminded me that I needed to update my profile since it's been a LONG time since I signed up for SI, and created my profile.

If the more recent post I placed on the thread, with a copy of the IBD advertising piece, raised your eyebrows even further, I encourage you to call John Howell at NVXE in San Diego and press him for answers to whatever tough questions you might have (you, meaning anyone reading this and thinking skeptically about the claims made in the company's PR). I don't work for NVXE, and NVXE is not my only investment, not by a long shot. But I can vouch for the fact that the company is not a scam.... if it were, it would be one of the longest running scams in investment history since I've been invested in the company for nearly four years. I've visited the company on over a dozen occasions since early 1997, and comminucated with several NVXE employees during that same period. They exist, and so does their broadband technology.

All I can say is, if 51Mbps over 26 gauge copper, at distances of 8500-15,000 feet intrigues anyone, and you're skeptical, then call the company. Let them answer your questions. I'm not a techie. I'm a marketing manager with a Fortune 50 company.

NVXE John Howell (who is a NVXE board member, and former senior manager for Eversys - eversys.com and Teraglobal - teraglobal.com is a good person to call with your questions: 619.692.0333
