Syncman, thanks for the response. I had hoped that someone who had more knowledge of how S&P does the reweighting, and more importantly when, would step up and let the rest of us know. There are few things more disheartening to this investor than to buy or sell a stock, and 2 days later it makes a big move that a lot of people knew was coming and I didn't. I am not saying that very well. I hope you understand what I am getting at. To some extent the movement in the stocks does a continuous reweight, but at some point S&P does an official reweight that the index funds know is coming. In the regard of it being a level playing field, I think the rest of us should also know. It won't stop us from acquiring the stocks we want, but it sure affects the timing.
