I originally thought I understood the Viewsoft acquisitions, but from what your notes, maybe I got it wrong., Mike: Vertigo came from a code name that Viewsoft had for certain things that they were working on "Project Vertigo" was one. When CTXS took over last year they kept the name Vertigo. .is about allowing users and customers to build Web based ap's from scratch that has all the wonderful richness and interactivity that a Windows ap has but are simple to solve and get out on the desktop as an HTML Web page That is verbatim from Mark Templeton, CEO. Also, I asked Ed Iacobbuci after the formal meeting about Java and Vertigo. Ed: Well, if the world was finite and everybody went from here to there..zap,zap that would be..(didn't get it)the world isn't like that. There is no doubt there is a great deal of work going on with HTML and Java and there is no doubt there is a lot of value with things like Vertigo. The higher speeds we are looking at, we are working with a lot of people that are very interested in that. What we have to look at is how long it takes for ap's to migrate from one place to another, we been very surprised ,with our products, we had people coming up and asking about unix, we thought unix was dead 10 years ago. Windows is by and large the top ap that is going to change over time, but our strategy going forward, is to be, there not at the evangelisum stage, but as the product achieves critical mass and performance. We are going to be there with Unix and Vertigo, whatever. The real answer is bringing it all together we are working very hard to diversify into all areas. (Bottom line) When any of these things reach critical mass we will be there. He said more but the tennis courts are calling any my finger tips have corns.. hope this helps.. Ray
