I wish I really did understand what is happening. I think I only see the outline. CSCO is down 38% as of yesterday's close, 2nd only to MSFT. I know that S&P index momentum helped carry these stocks ever higher, along with ORCL, SUNW, etc. My question is: how much will the loss of momentum carry the shares down, and when does S&P make the "official" reweight, and how much is already taken into account by the falling share price? It doesn't affect interest in the stock. It just affects timing. It has always before been a case of buying and holding because the momentum would always carry it highter. It doesn't look to me that momentum can be counted on anymore. Sorry it took 5 days to get back.
