mishedlo,

Who you talking to?

I don't think presenting one's negative opinion of Rambus with links is considered bashing.

Would you care to outline your definition of bashing?

Misheldo,

why wouldn't you want Intel to incorporate that into Willy?

mishedlo, sometmes opinionated engineers have this urge to stomp on what we don't like whether justified or not. rmbs is perceived as proprietary technology which also generates a knee jerk reaction in those of us who prefer open architectures.

The only success criteria that counts for rambus memory is to just sitback and see every 3 months how many of these rdram chips are sold between now, this time next yr, and the yr after that to see if the volume steadily increases or peaks and dips.

Since DDR and rambus look like natural enemies, the growth rate of usage of both is of interest to anyone in the PC industry, and will be watched closely like the way we watch a good kickboxing match. To the death.

This has everything going for it : drama, money, that "There can only be One" factor. Who wouldn't want to watch it? You can enjoy this even without taking any position in rmbs long or short. I'm rooting for DDR, but will go on with my life even if rambus were to emerge victorious.

Engineers lead such boring lives.

Of course, there is that lawsuit thing, so it could be settled outside of the marketplace, but in the realm of legal horseplay. Which is no fun, but these things happen.

jmho.
