SusanG: Sharp comment about analysts (and others) pumping PR to Maria...and other receptive CNBC'ers. This is why, once the market opens I always hit the "mute" button. Maria is cute, has developed a large following and when she gushes over a QCOM or others...THE LADY CAN MOVE A STOCK. If I had a large position in a stock and wanted out, had a low sense of ethics...I'd try to get Maria to get excited about the stock and breathlessly get the CNBC audience to buy it...then I'd sell into the subsequent buying. It's a questionable tactic, but as you point out...it's one of the sleazier games being played. (Lee)

Susan G...re.: maria b...isnt that true! the minute they pump, u know that "someone" is selling into it. here is my question: if i know that it is true, why cannt i bring myself to short it afterwards? after all, there is such a strong history regarding these moves. so why not? why didnt i short A after gilder and maria b? why didnt i short covd @ the open this friday? fear alone, although present, is not the answer. it has to do with the psychology of the masses. who knows with certinty how people will react in todays market place. i believe that we are at an unprecedented time here. there is no history to turn to and get guidance. so, every day is a new day. i can only hope that i can develop a "geshtalt" for this new market with each new day.
good trading, wgh613
