I actually don't think Cuba would revert to the old Batista-style dictatorship in the post-Castro era. One thing the Communist period has accomplished is the complete negation of the power of the old landed elite that provided the dictators, and the system of tenancy and debt peonage that maintained their control. While I'm sure that many in Miami would like this system back, I don't think it will happen. What follows Castro may not be democracy as we know it, but I don't expect another Batista.

Of course, the first item on the Miami Cuban agenda is to persuade the Americans to put them back in power, preferably in some way that will cause as little risk as possible to them. Whatever you think of Fidel, when he wanted to take over the country he at least had the cojones to take to the hills and start a revolution. That's something the Miami crowd seems to lack.
