What Paul had said was that the program fills in your encrypted password under the stars after one does as you did. It does that for me, but the program cooked an encryption which isn't equivalent to my password. You happen to be one of the 20 percenters.

My encrypted character sequence looks like: xyzwt.abcde

Notice the ".". Usually encryption doesn't contain such characters. Notice also that the encryption has more characters than the password. No big deal there.

I don't believe there is a state in your computer different than in mine that would be relevant to the fact that this procedure works for you, but not for me. Something else is happening here, and I don't know what it is, do I, Mr. Jones.
