Message 13744067 Not my usual style to post the message link, but considering the point in the post at which I'd like to pick up, I think it more appropriate: Hi ya, First sentence - paragraph 8 - key word; future. Honestly, do you ever fear a legalized arrangement could end in a similar way as the first go round and therefore, possibly, give the fear a greater weighting than had there never been a first time? Just musing, I wonder at times how many single people will get on when they get older where two incomes would have put aside enough savings to make retirement and (I hate to use the phrase, but can't think of a better way to put it at the moment) pre-death years easier to get through than what a single person could amass in anticipation of those times. Naturally, these musings exclude those with incomes in the upper classes of our society for whom such worries would not be a source of stress. (disconnect) Admitedly, SJ and I have been living on borrowed time, but optimisticly, I figure we'll get it right eventually. This also brings to mind the old saying, "What doesn't kill you will make you stronger." In almost 10 years, I can't think of a single incident which almost killed her, me, or us. Nor do I wish to ever find out what would make us stronger.BTW, does your wife notice that I am a woman? Given past experience with messages to and from Christine, I try not to give her the opportunity to wonder. I have plenty of time to jump screens before she comes downstairs. Btw, it was shown, using a pie chart, in USA Today a few years back that women on average are better investors than men. Also, it seems to me if I remember correctly, girls made up a considerable percentage of those in the 4.0 range in my high school, and I'd bet they do as a rule in most schools. Therefore, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that women can crunch numbers. But it sucks to admit. :-)
